Master Certificate in IS/IT Project Management

The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) has teamed up with Villanova University Online to offer training to Department of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics personnel. Through this dynamic partnership, students who have attained Level 2 or Level 3 certification may be eligible to receive credit toward one of Villanova University’s master certificate programs.
The following programs are now available through a strategic partnership between DAU and Villanova University:
Master Certificate in Applied Project Management
Department of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics personnel possessing a Level 2 or 3 Certification in Program Management will receive credit for the Essentials of Project Management course. Only two additional courses are required to complete the Master Certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University.
Master Certificate in Government Contract Management
Department of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics personnel possessing a Level 2 or Level 3 Contract Management Certification are eligible to receive credit for the Essentials of Government Contract Management course. Only two additional courses are required to attain the Master Certificate in Government Contract Management from Villanova University. You’ll learn how to track and report on the expenditure of taxpayers’ money. This master certificate program also prepares you for industry certification.
- A Government Accountability Office report issued in September 2009 identified several weaknesses in contracting data systems.
- In an August 2010 report, the Government Accountability Office stated that an Army contract for engineering and maintenance support for the Chinook helicopter swelled from $34.7 million to $477 million due to poor oversight.
Master Certificate in Six Sigma
Department of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics personnel possessing a Level 2 or Level 3 Certification in Production, Quality and Manufacturing are eligible to receive credit for either theSix Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma course. Completion of two additional courses, either the Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma course, and the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt course will fulfill the requirements for the Master Certificate in Six Sigma from Villanova University. With this certificate program, you’ll get the skills to improve processes and enhance results.
- The Army reported a financial benefit of nearly $2 billion, according to an iSixSigma report accessed in October 2010. Ronald E. Rezek, Special Assistant to the Acting Secretary of the Army, called the application of Lean Six Sigma in the Army “revolutionary.”
- Ohio governor’s office data accessed in October 2010 reports that, during the first two years of Lean implementation in state government (May 2008 to May 2010), more than 25 Kaizen events produced big improvements at some of the state’s biggest agencies. Cumulatively for all these projects, the changes eliminated up to 62% of the process steps and 72% of the delays. On average, start-to-finish process time was cut by 45%.
Master Certificate in Information Security Management – Government
