Rex Black is the principal consultant of Rex Black Consulting Services, Inc. He specializes in planning, staffing, and managing testing, test tool, and test process projects. In addition to his work, Mr. Black plays a leading role in the professional testing community. He is the author of Managing the Testing Process, the only book (at the time of publication) to address QA and test management. Mr. Black holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from UCLA. He belongs to the Association for Computer Machinery and the American Society for Quality.
A 20-year software and systems engineering veteran, Rex Black is President and Principal Consultant of RBCS, Inc., a leader in software, hardware and systems testing. His clients span 16 countries on four continents, including Adobe (India), ASB Bank, Bank One, Cisco, Comverse, Dell, the U.S. Department of Defense, Hitachi, NDS, Reef, and Schlumberger. He is the author of Managing the Testing Process, now in its second edition, andCritical Testing Processes, which was published at the end of 2003. Mr. Black has also written numerous articles, along with presenting papers, seminars, and speeches at various U.S. and international conferences. He is the President of the American Software Testing Qualification Board (ASTQB), and President of the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB®).
