Federal Student Aid
Apply for Government-Sponsored Financial Assistance
If you’re seeking financial aid for graduate school, you have a variety of sources to choose from, such as federal and state loans as well as grants, scholarships and fellowships. The best place to start is with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, which will help you determine your eligibility for federal loans and grants.
FAFSA
You can apply for several types of federal financial assistance – including loans, grants and work-study programs – with one simple form: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Offering more than $60 billion a year in assistance, Federal Student Aid programs are the largest single source of student financial aid in the nation. Don’t miss out on this opportunity – submit your FAFSA today to determine your eligibility for government funds!
Federal Stafford Loans
Federal Stafford Loans are available to both graduate and undergraduate students. This need-based loan must be repaid – typically via installment payments upon graduation. If you receive a subsidized Stafford loan, the interest on your loan will be paid by the government while you complete your studies.
Maximum Federal Stafford Loans Per Academic Year:
| Class Standing | Base (Subsidized) | Extended (Unsubsidized) | Total Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graduate | $8,500 | $12,000 | $20,500 |
